The Japanese composer and visual artist Ryoji Ikeda is regarded as one of Japan’s leading creative forces and one of the pioneers of digital electronic music. Ikeda is known for his radical aesthetic language: his sounds are razor-sharp, precise, consistent and uncompromising. He focuses on the fundamental properties of sound, but also of the image – in the form of light. His audiovisual minimalism shifts our conventional perception and proves that our senses can always discover something new. Ikeda’s works have been shown in leading art institutions and festivals around the world.
