The DNA of modern techno carries Moritz von Oswald’s fingerprints. Across more than four decades, the Berlin-based producer, composer and mastering engineer has continuously redefined the possibilities of techno, developing a sonic language whose influence extends far beyond the dancefloor.

Following his early training as a classical percussionist, von Oswald entered Berlin’s avant-garde scene with Palais Schaumburg before helping lay the foundations of modern electronic music through collaborations with Thomas Fehlmann, Juan Atkins and Mark Ernestus. Together with Ernestus, he co-founded Basic Channel—one of the most influential projects in techno history—establishing a blueprint that fused Detroit techno, Jamaican dub and radical minimalism into an entirely new musical vocabulary.
