Elevate is an annual interdisciplinary festival held in various venues in Graz, Austria, with a strong focus on cultural and socio-political topics. For more than 20 years, the Elevate festival has been transforming the city of Graz into a hotspot for contemporary festival culture.
In addition to performances, concerts, installations and DJ sets, the interdisciplinary programme offers for 5 days workshops, film screenings, lectures and discussions.
With its unique combination of critical-political discourse and art, contemporary electronic music and audio-visual experiments, the festival opens up a space for innovative content.
Among the guests are human rights experts, climate researchers and activists from all over the world, who meet once a year with musicians and artists in Graz to shed light on relevant questions about our future. Elevate not only invites you to listen and watch, but also to share and discuss future issues from different perspectives.
By constructively linking these seemingly contradictory elements, Elevate has always felt the pulse of social change and taken up themes and their constant and present interaction, which often only received general attention years later. In short, change has always been an integral motif of the festival’s programmatic vision and is firmly anchored in its DNA.
