Henrique Silva is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music producer. He holds dual Portuguese and Cape Verdean citizenship. Born in Portugal and raised in Mindelo, on the island of São Vicente, he spent the first 18 years of his life in the Cape Verdean archipelago. It was there that he learned his first guitar chords.
Upon reaching adulthood, he moved to Lisbon, the city where he was born. He graduated in Sound Science and Technology and has since worked on a wide range of live performances and cultural events.
In recent years, he has collaborated and performed with artists such as Cachupa Psicadélica, Prétu Xullaji, Scúru Fitchádu, Berlok, Dino d’Santiago, Fidju Kitxora, Eliana Rosa, Nancy Vieira, Mayra Andrade, and Sara Tavares. He is the founder of projects including Acácia Maior, ArapucaGongon, and Landa.
He is also a founding member of the production company Tabanka Records and composes and produces music for advertising, theatre, and film. He composed the original scores for the feature films Omi Nobu by Yuri Ceuninck (winner at FESPACO 2023 in Burkina Faso) and Manga d’Terra by Basil da Cunha (winner of Best Original Score at the 2024 Caminhos do Cinema Português Film Festival and Best Original Song at the 2025 Sophia Awards), as well as for the documentary Por ti, Portugal, eu Juro (winner of the Audience Award at Doclisboa 2024).
More recently, he composed the score for the feature film O Jacaré, also directed by Basil da Cunha, which had its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival.
