Mohammad Reza Mortazavi

A prodigy of the Tombak, Mohammad Reza Mortazavi began at the age of 6, and by 9, he had already surpassed the teachings of his master. He won the prestigious Iranian Tombak competition seven times before being recognized, at 20, as one of the best percussionists in the world. Revolutionising his art with over 30 new techniques, he captivated Europe with stunning performances, playing in iconic venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie. Winner of the RUTH Prize in 2003, he has gone on multiple international tours, lighting up the stages of prestigious festivals. With Transformation and other major albums, he continues to elevate percussion to an unparalleled level.
