TIMES at UNSOUND 2025

Last week, Unsound – the boundary-pushing festival renowned for its innovative approach to music and culture, held its 2025 Kraków edition.

Focusing on the theme of WEB, the line-up celebrated a global community of artists redefining musical boundaries.
From artist talks and hands-on workshops to an all-night dance party that kept the energy alive past seven in the morning, the event was packed with nonstop action.

This year Unsound hosted 5 TIMES co-curations. Three of them, co-curated with Berlin Atonal , took place at Teatr Łaźnia Nowa on the second day, featuring Artur Rumiński, Abdullah Miniawy, and Moin.

Kicking off the evening was
Artur Rumiński, a Polish guitarist, who mesmerized the audience with his solo ambient pieces blending electronic sounds.

Egyptian poet, composer, and singer Abdullah Miniawy lit up the stage alongside two trombonists: Jules Boittin and Robinson Khoury with a performance of lyrical force and raw emotion. He presented his new album Peacock أَحْلَامُ الطَّاوُوسِ .
Miniawy’s soaring, urgent vocals in Classical Arabic created a powerful fusion of poetry and sound.

Moin

The trio of iconic percussionist Valentina Magaletti, Tom Halstead and Joe Andrews returned for a well-deserved victory lap, years after playing their very first show together at Unsound.
Their sound pushes the boundaries by blending post-hardcore punk and jazz with layered samples and electronic textures.

Smerz

On The Ballroom stage, Unsound’s famous brutalist venue, Norwegian duo Smerz drew the crowd into their dreamy, hypnotic pop as they performed tracks from their new album Big City Live.

Another night, another moment on The Ballroom stage. DJ Lycox, Paris-based DJ, producer and a part of Príncipe label, took over to close the day with an explosive DJ set.

Nazar

This year, Angolan-Belgian producer Nazar returned with his powerful second album Demilitarize. On the final day of the festival, he brought this bold new psychedelic kuduro project to Unsound, delivering a standout performance.
